Description

Franz Hlusek aka Fast Distance is currently one of the most successful new trance producers in Belgium and has been heralded by Armin van Buuren as “one of my favourite trance artists".

He was taking music lessons at a very early age. Due to his quick musical development and growing inspiration, Franz’ parents bought him his first keyboard when he was eleven years old.

Instantly drawn to the trance sound when it emerged in Belgium in the nineties, he started mixing tracks together using his father’s hardware and performing at various small club events.

When he turned 18 he bought a synthesizer and turntables, and soon after started building a professional studio to engineer and record his own productions.

After nearly 2 years of hard work his career took off in 2007 after his productions were signed by labels such as Armada Music,Vandit and Recoverworld to name a few. Everything he touches is instantly supported by the biggest DJ’s in the world, including Armin van Buuren, Paul van Dyk, Tiësto, Above & Beyond and Ferry Corsten. His interest in electronic music also expresses his love for performing as a DJ and he has had guest appearances in the UK, France, Spain, Germany, Holland, Bulgaria and Cyprus.

Franz currently hosts his own radio show on Afterhours.fm and is collaborating on new productions with Roger Shah (who named him as his breakthrough producer of 2009 in his top 100 DJ’s interview).

Guest mixes on Trance Around The World (Above & Beyonds radio show), Paul Van Dyk’s Vonyc Sessions or Tiësto’s Club Life made Fast Distance one the freshest and most sucsessfull Belgian trance artist of his time.
